Upon her second remodel, released 2018/06/13, Ise's outfit and rigging change to a form best befitting of her historical fame as a BB-CV hybrid while introducing a new form to audiences. While Ise's kai form reflects her real-life conversion to a hybrid battleship carrier, her Kai Ni reflects stillborn plans that would have seen her drastically converted to a true BB-CV hybrid.
A 2/3 conversion was put forward during design plans in light of Hyuuga's turret explosion prior to Midway, where the #1 and #2 turret were to be retained and convert the rest into a carrier. This was historically ruled out since the capacity would be too big for the launching facility (2 catapults) to keep up, causing delays when launching attack squadrons. Ultimately, a cheaper 1/3 conversion took place after Midway.
