    王立宇宙軍 オネアミスの翼 王立宇宙軍オネアミスの翼 royal_space_force:_the_wings_of_honneamise

Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honnêamise (Ōritsu Uchūgun: Oneamisu no Tsubasa) is the first feature-length anime movie produced by Gainax. Released in 1987, it is directed by Yamaga Hiroyuki with assistant director Akai Takami. The music for the anime film was composed by the late famous musician and actor Sakamoto Ryuichi . Sadamoto Yoshiyuki designed the characters and Anno Hideaki worked on it as animation and special effects artist.

The animated film is set in an alternate Earth-like alien world where an industrial humanoid civilization is flourishing amid an impending war between two bordering nations: the Kingdom of Honneamise and "The Republic". The Kingdom of Honneamise begins the development of an experimental space program to put the first man in space and thus creates the first Royal Space Force.

This epic science fiction anime movie would ultimately be a critically acclaimed Gainax classic from the 80s, but it was poorly received and sold only modestly domestically and overseas.

A sequel called Aoki Uru ("Blue Uru") was intended to be released in the 90s, but due to lack of funds, Gainax abandoned it part way through production. This sequel was going to be set in the same universe of the original but 50 years in the future. However, the project has been revived once again.
