Phoenix 2772 (Hi no Tori 2772: Ai no Kosumozōn - Firebird 2772: Love's Cosmozone) is an animated feature film directed by Sugiyama Taku and co-scripted by Tezuka Osamu, based on his manga series Hi no Tori. The epic science fiction and fantasy film premiered on March 15, 1980 in Japan.
It was then released in the UK in 1980 under the title Space Firebird, and later in the United States in 1983, shortened to 79 minutes and dubbed by British voice-actors. A French version had also been released under the title Firebird 2772.
