A science fiction third-person shooter series developed by Arrowhead Game Studios.
Set in a futuristic earth dubbed "Super Earth" where the player is part of the titular Helldivers space marines who spread DEMOCRACY AND FREEDOM while beating up aliens and other undesirables. In reality, the government of Super Earth is actually an authoritarian fascist empire of conquest that doesn't practice democracy but a fake one called "Managed Democracy", which brainwashes their citizens through indoctrination, propaganda and harsh laws against anyone who dares question the state.
A unique feature of the game is the "galactic campaign" that is coordinated by every player's progress, regardless if they go solo or in a squad.
