An Akita Inu dog who lived from 1923 to 1935, belonging to Professor Ueno Hidesaburou of Tokyo Imperial University (current Tokyo University). He famously awaited his master's return home at Shibuya Station in Tokyo every day from the professor's death in 1925 until his own in 1935, for which he was honored with a statue at the station. Today, said statue is a popular meeting place.
