A woven rush mat that makes up the top layer of the traditional tatami floor covering, either bundled or rolled into a cylindrical shape to be used as target for tameshigiri. They may be soaked in water to add density to the material.
Not to be confused with bamboo despite their similar greenish color and cylindrical shape.
