As an alternate timeline counterpart to Gelgoog and a mass-produced model of White Gundam, this mobile suit resembles a heavily modified GM (GM II) from the original timeline instead of the Zaku.
As a winner of the competition for Zeon's next-gen mass-produced mobile suit, gMS-01 have won its position from MS-14 (Gelgoog of the original timeline) and went on to replace Zaku for at least U.C.0085, leading Zaku to be sold away for civilians.
One red and white unit was piloted by Shiiko Sugai.
