    ギース・ハワード GeeseHoward

A recurring villain of SNK's Fatal Fury, Art of Fighting, and The King of Fighters series.

Famed as crime lord of South Town, leader of the Howard Connection syndicate, and wielder of Hakkyokuseiken and other powerful martial arts. He suffered a hard childhood, including a grievous encounter with his half-brother Wolfgang Krauser. Geese trained in Hakkyokuseiken under Tung Fu Rue alongside Jeff Bogard and Cheng Sinzan, though he would be banished by Tung after Geese rebelled when Jeff was named the heir to the style and the darkness in his heart was recognized.

Early in his criminal career, Geese posed as the police chief of South Town while ruling the city's underworld; to force resident karate master Takuma Sakazaki under his thumb, he enlisted Mr. Big to kidnap Takuma's daughter Yuri. After the kidnapping plot was foiled, Geese would become more hands-on in his operations before he was defeated and ran out of town by Takuma's son Ryo Sakazaki and his friend Robert Garcia. The defeat was so severe that Geese was forced to retool his martial arts before returning to South Town years later and finally slaying his rival Jeff Bogard. From that moment forever onward, Geese served as mortal enemy of Jeff's adopted sons, the Bogard brothers Terry and Andy. He is also the illegitimate biological father of Rock Howard. Billy Kane is his personal bodyguard and closest confidant.

Geese is canonically dead in the Art of Fighting/Fatal Fury continuity, after falling from his tower during a final showdown with Terry in the finale of Real Bout Fatal Fury; any post-death appearances of Geese are either non-canon or referred to as the otherworldly phantom of nightmares, Nightmare Geese. In Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, Nightmare Geese - in a variant of his Fatal Fury 1 outfit - is the secret final boss of arcade mode, while certain characters encounter him as the final boss in the Episodes of South Town story mode, in a sort of final exorcism of Geese's influence from South Town. Nightmare Geese was made a playable character in FF:CotW's season 2. In the King of Fighters continuity, he is still alive.

Voiced primarily by Kong Kuwata, he is infamous for his Engrish quotes across numerous titles, his noted penchant for falling out of buildings, his fascination with Japanese culture as a blonde haired, blue eyed American, and his relatively consistent theme song. When he's not wearing a nice suit, he is almost always fighting wearing a red hakama.
