Japanese racehorse. Sired by Real Steel and foaled by Forever Darling.
He is famous for winning the 2023 Zen-Nippon Nisai Yushun and being undefeated until the 2024 Kentucky Derby, where he finished third in a photo-finish, behind winner Mystik Dan and runner-up Sierra Leone. He would later claim the Saudi Cup and then the American Breeder's Cup Classic, becoming the highest-earning Japanese racehorse of all time.
Ironically, despite being a JRA-registered horse, he only has very little money earned in the JRA (¥7.2 million, his debut race), due to the major JRA dirt races being in the shadow of other major international races and what major races he actually did at home were under the purview of the NAR.
Forever Young's birthday falls on the same day as the release of the Umamusume game, February 24, 2021. A significant date for his owner, Fujita Susumu, CEO of CyberAgent, Cygames' parent company. To celebrate the game's 5th anniversary, which is also Forever Young's 5th birthday, as well as his accomplishments at the Saudi Cup and the Breeders' Cup, he was given his own official umamusume and a scenario based on the Breeders' Cup weekend, despite still being an active racehorse.
