A plutonium-infused atomic bomb developed by the United States as a part of the Manhattan Project. It was used during the Atomic Bombing of Nagasaki on 9 August, 1945, destroying the city in the process. Fat Man is the second and last nuclear weapon to ever be used in combat.
Despite its relatively short service life, the Fat Man's appearance has been frequently used in popular culture as a stereotypical depiction of an atomic bomb.
