Dragon Quest IX: Hoshizora no Mamoribito (ドラゴンクエストX 目覚めし五つの種族 オンライン) (Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies) is the ninth game in the Dragon Quest series of RPGs. It was released on the Nintendo DS in Japan in 2009, and in the rest of the world in 2010.
It was the first game of the Dragon Quest series to feature multiplayer gameplay, and the first to be initially released (rather than as a port) for a handheld console.
