The Militia of the People's Republic of China is a mass armed force under the leadership of the Communist Party of China that does not separate from production. Together with the Chinese People's Liberation Army and the Chinese People's Armed Police Force, it constitutes the armed forces of the People's Republic of China. It serves as an assistant and reserve force of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, and is an important organizational form for implementing the policy of a nation-wide militia. Under the command of military organs, it undertakes combat readiness duties, carries out non-war military operations and defensive combat tasks.
