She is the leader of Neo Umbrella and a chief researcher working for Derek Clifford Simmons, being responsible for the discovery of Chrysalid virus. Carla was involved in Simmons' Chrysalid virus project known as "Project Ada," allowing her to take the likeness of Ada Wong, and becoming her impostor as per the wishes of Simmons. Carla developed feelings for him despite the latter does not care for her at all.
