A summer 2014 adaptation of the Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon franchise, commemorating the series' 20th anniversary. Sailor Moon Crystal isn't a remake of the previous 1992-1997 series. Rather, it is more faithful to the manga's storyline. The first two arcs, the Dark Kingdom and Black Moon arcs, aired from July 2014 to July 2015. The third arc, Death Busters, aired in 2016. The fourth arc, Dead Moon, was released as a two-part film in 2021. The fifth and final arc, Shadow Galactica, was likewise released as a two-part film in 2023.
