    不動明王

    (Sanskrit: Acala, Achala अचल; "immovable" one)

    A guardian deity (vidyaraja) in esoteric Buddhism (Vajrayana). He is popular in Japanese Buddhist traditions, where he is called Fudou Myouou (不動明王). His properties are Although the properly esoteric Shingon sect claims particular reverence of him, he is received even in largely exoteric traditions such as Nichiren, Tendai Lotus and Zen, as well as the Japanese syncretic tradition of Shugendou.

    Not to be confused with Fudou Akio, a character from the Inazuma Eleven series, whose name is a different reading of the same characters.
