Hastily evacuated half-complete as the Germans took over France, the historical Jean Bart was at anchor in Casablanca (assigned to Vichy France after 1940 armistice), when the Allies took the base in November 1942 (the setting of the Summer 2022 event), leading to her gunnery exchange with Massachusetts where she was severely damaged. She was then handled over to the Allies after, she was not completed until 1949 and decommissioned a decade later.
