What makes me a good Demoman? If I were a bad Demoman, I wouldn't be sittin' here, discussin' it with you now would I?
One of the playable classes in Team Fortress 2, real name Tavish Degroot.
A "black Scottish cyclops" hailing from a wealthy clan of demolitionists in Ullapool, Scotland, the Demoman is primarily known for his incredible expertise in explosives, and his incredible alcoholism. Despite almost always being drunk on the job, he's professional and skilled, though often rowdy and belligerent to his foes. As a child, he lost his eye to an incident involving a wizard and a sentient grimoire of explosives, and in the game's current year he lives with, and dotes on, his blind, job-obsessed mother, where he's shown to be much more personable and friendly while off the clock. Has an on-off friendship with the Soldier.
In-game, the Demoman has less movement speed and higher health than other classes, and specializes in long-range projectile explosives. His two main weapons are his grenade launcher and his "stickybomb launcher", which fires remotely-detonated bombs. He also wields his bottle of scrumpy as a melee weapon. Later game updates would give him the Eyelander, a haunted claymore that now lives with him, as well as a buckler to allow him to play as a melee class, and various alternative versions of all his weapons.
The Demoman's default outfit includes a black protective chestpiece with six grenades, a black cap and eyepatch, a full-body team colored undersuit and black boots.
