Akigumo's kai ni on October 16, 2020 combines the standard winter Yuugumo-class Kai Ni uniform -- a mostly grey blazer over the standard Yuugumo-class uniform, an additional sheer black underskirt, and greyover-kneehighs -- with several Kagerou elements, most notably a grey-colored pleated skirt dress as opposed to the purple ones seen on the Yuugumos. This is a reference to the long-standing confusion over which class Akigumo really belonged (as she shared the Yuugumo-class nomenclature with Kagerou-class hull design.)
A drawing tablet, a stylus, and a single left black partially fingerless drawer's glove are also included in her gear. Her hair now gradiates to blonde as well near the end, something not seen in her base form. This hybridized remodel, however, gives rise to an introductory line in which she distances herself from either class, probably as a reference to the supposed nameship status described in documents declassified in 1994 (where she is listed as "Kagerou-class - Akigumo".)
