The story is loosely based on the console wars and takes place in the world of Gamindustri (corrupted from Game Industry) which is divided in multiple regions, each represented by a goddess which is the personification of a game console from major (and former) game console developer company. Also presenting personification of (mostly Japanese) game companies and some famous games.
Remakes of the first three games in the series known as Re;Birth were released for the PS Vita and later for PC via Steam. They mostly follow the storylines of original titles.
