Belno is not directly named after a real-life horse, though her name and "twin B" hair ornaments are veiled references to Twin Bee, a racing mare and contemporary of the real life Oguri Cap. Twin Bee was named after the first Twinbee video game, which features Bells (pronounced roughly the same as "Ber" and spelled the same in katakana) as the main in-game powerup item and has a protagonist named Light.
