Nami's name is a pun on the word "人並み" - "hitonami" ("run-of-the-mill"). Compared to her homeroom teacher Nozomu and the rest of her classmates, Nami is otherwise completely normal, much to her distress - even her truancy and potentially self-destructive habits are considered normal for a neglected person like her. She is also known as an aficionado of Apple products.
