A supporting character from the backstory of the manga and anime One Piece. He became the foster father and mentor of Tony Tony Chopper and inspired him to become a doctor and his life goal of finding a cure for all known diseases.
Sadly, he died from ingesting an explosive potion right in front of his country's tyrannical ruler, although he was as good as dead due to a relapse of a fatal disease and having drunk a soup Chopper unwittingly made from a terribly poisonous mushroom, but chose to go out on his own terms.
