A traditional Japanese male hairstyle, worn by men in the ancient period. It consists of two looped ponytails, short or long, one on either side of the head. These are looped down and back up, then secured in place with some sort of wrapping (a string, a hair tie, or hair tubes). Mizura was worn differently according to social status.
Mizura should not be confused with shuangyaji, a Chinese female hairstyle worn higher up on the head or lower back, being more varying.
