A single-file line in which people wait their turn, either for a service, or to proceed. Rhymes with "cue".

Archaically, it can also refer to a type of braid, but for tagging purposes, use queue only to describe a line of people; for the braid, use single braid.

Not to be confused with lineup, which is used to display people positioned side-by-side.
