A common term for a telescopic sight, an optical sighting device for long-range aiming attached to weapons (usually a sniper rifle). Long and tubular in shape, they have crosshairs on the eyepiece lens.
For the smaller, shorter counterparts with zero or low-power magnification, use optical sight instead.
