Hmm, rereading this I noticed that the books here were actually getting charred and destroyed. So the theory earlier about the books being magically protected was a bit off. If Remi's starting to throw down some of her power around, those protections won't hold very well and hence why Patchy wanted to get hit and die. The battle was escalating far beyond what her Library's protections could handle. Still awesome!
