Stupid is stupid, beam firing out of the top of a solid sword is as ridiculous as it can get. The Gundam itself looks cool but it is pushing it too far.
It's as ridiculous as condensing solar energy and turning it to highly charged particles and releasing to form energy but it's not stupid its genius And the blade is a super condensed energy infused sword so just by concentrating the energy and particles of the GN particles and releasing it at a narrow energy field you can fire a laser it's the same physics as railgun
And if you want ridiculous why didn't you note the alien machines infusing themselves with human tech and controlling it with mass production of its own cells which I believe is quite impossible yet awesome and interesting for the future advances of human tech
How about "Anime doesn't have to be realistic or sensible?" Just sit back and enjoy what is, by all rights, a SCI-FI show. The "Fi" in sci-fi stands for FICTION afterall.

Seriously, are you pretending to know science because you demonstrate the opposite. The physics behind the railgun is to accelerate a projectile. Now, is there any projectile here in this GN sword? No. If the blade itself is shot out, i would agree with you but in this case I think you have failed to differentiate between a real railgun and the anime's one.

Sorry but I didn't find the need to repeat myself so many times about how stupid Alien is. The origin of alien is stupid, its widespread through media is also just a mean to make money. Human delude themselves for a unlogical myth and through media, they've successfully established inside many people's mind that this very stupid theory "may be" true. However, if you believe that's possible then reconsider it. Ask yourself: How can a lump of metal be considered as a "being" and how can they convert their massive mass into something that is flexible at one time and hard at another and how can those eat away others metal or corrode them into its own body? Answer them in a scientific possible way for human to ever achieve that, THEN, maybe someone will believe you.

Anime's physics, yes, I got your point. So don't try to unify real - life science into your argument in attempt to persuade people that anime's "could be acheivable".

Oh Ho, no way. Kira x Flay was somewhat believable but anyway, I found 00's and 0089's romances to be much more absurd.

Yes there is. Technically speaking the projectile that the GN Sword would be emitting is a particle beam, and not a laser. If the blades are infused with GN Particles inside and out and given that they have particle condensers for storing and ionizing the particles, it's doesn't really seem that far-fetched system of imitating a railgun working around a directed energy weapon instead of solid-based projectiles. Specifically I think they call it particle beam weapons or particle accelerators.

That just shows how limited your mind is on how life can exist, with obviously believing only that life can exist by following the molecular pattern of that on Earth alone resulting on the existence of organic life only and applying it to possibly everything with regards to possible extraterrestrial life around the universe with obviously having different planets and conditions of living. Theoretically speaking, who knows what kind of life exists out there. It maybe organic or inorganic or a mutual combination of both.
And about the "how can they convert their massive mass into something that is flexible at one time and hard at another and how can those eat away others metal or corrode them into its own body?", if you've read theories with regards to nanotechnology as of late, you should have at least come across with topics being discussed about the possible existence of nanobots in the future, which basically have the ability to alter the structure of a molecule they come in contact with into something else like self replication.
Yes it sounds like science fiction now... but the internet was science fiction too way back in the days of the radio. And science knows a lot of things, but it surely doesn't know everything. That's why theories exist based on existing data which have results that haven't existed yet.
And finally, if you want so much realism, I recommend you watch WW2 documentaries and read about it too. See how terrible exactly war is outside of your idiot box. I'd also recommend reading more on current technology like Physics, Biochemistry, and even Quantum Physics. Forget gundam and anime, they don't sound like your kind of thing anyway. :D
