This work I made especially for "Sega and Racing Games Art Contest" on Game-Art-HQ, and as an object of fan art I chose my beloved, traversed the length and breadth, my favorite SEGA game – «The House of the Dead II».
If you ever played this game, you are probably remember, that story and voice acting is not a forte of THOTD2: incredibly apathetic villain made some overly ambitious plans to take over the world with bunch of totally killable monsters, and when your apathetic hero shoot them all down, villain outlines his plan and philosophy, so delusional, that it seems that this whole mess was it organized exclusively because boredom and all of deep reasons that villian says are made on to go.
The strong points of the game are enthralling gameplay, non-linear stages, bonus and jocular training modes, monster's design and awesome music theme of Magician made this game a most fun horror action game for me. I sincerely wish that this series had a decently rebooted in future.
(Also, only at the start of work on the picture I learned that "The House of the Dead" is the official English title of F. M. Dostoyevsky's novel «Notes from the Dead house». Weird, but funny.)
