ハーフリング隊は傭兵団の一小隊でありハーフリングばかりが集められている。と言いつつ低身長の少女の外見をしている種族なら適当に隊に加えられているし、小間使いの少女は人間である。ハーフリングの立場を弁えさせるために拠点である半地下では脱衣が徹底されている。ついでに監督役の男達も脱いでいる。壁際では今月の働きが悪かった者が枷に嵌められて罰を受けているが慣れた光景なので誰も気に留めない。少女の外見をしている彼女達は傭兵としての仕事とは別の特別な仕事を請け負うこともあった。
「よーし、今夜は客が来る。変態どもの相手したいやつ８人ばかり前に来い！っておい、うちにエルフなんて居たか？」

The Halfling Squad is just one small unit of the mercenary company, composed entirely of halflings—or so it’s said. In truth, any race with the appearance of a petite girl is haphazardly added to the squad, and the servant girl tending to them is human. To keep the halflings in their place, stripping down is strictly enforced in their half-underground base. Unrelated to this rule, the men in charge also go about unclothed. Along the wall, someone who performed poorly this month is shackled in a wooden stock as punishment, but it’s such a familiar sight that no one pays it any mind. Despite their girlish appearances, these girls sometimes take on special jobs separate from their mercenary work.
“Alright, we’ve got guests tonight! Eight of you who want to entertain those perverts, step forward! ...Wait a second, since when did we have an elf in this squad?”
