Day 1: Kappa

• Kappas are well-known amphibian-like yokai that mostly live in freshwater rivers and lakes, though other variants and subspecies can be found near or in oceans.

This yokai is known for its horrifying attacks on humans, but those cases are talking about certain groups of malicious Kappas, as most Kappas would rather befriend or just not interact with humans.

The friendly Kappas tend to populate slow-moving streams matching their calmer nature. As folktales go, they do love sumo wrestling and eating cucumbers, which friendly Kappas are willing to party with humans and other yokai.
