It won't work for me in Firefox 3.6, but it comes through fine in IE 7. And it can still be downloaded and viewed that way.

but, I'm using IE 8.

It's probably something with flash itself. Suddenly, I can't play this in chrome or firefox, but ie takes it like a boss. There are also several other swfs I have suffering the same problem with various browsers, while others have no issue at all.

Offline media players (MPC for example) still work though.

Huh. I cannot watch this in Google Chrome, IE 7, IrfanView or MPC...

It's a flash issue, but the nico source still works.

All older seeming non working flash files do work.

The problem is newer flash players simply are crap and don't do their job half of the time, especially with older files. Use an older standalone flash player, v9 or v10, those work just fine. Adobe still has them.
