Another month of training wouldn't make up for all of their tricks and tactics being revealed during this match; even if Red 75% sat around doing nothing the whole time.

Nonsense. Such training is a staple of the genre.

Then there could've been a moral about strategy and basics and training being a good thing but exploiting loopholes in the rules or stuff isn't such a great thing to rely on.

I would put money on Reimu/Remilia and Sakuya/Suika in the finals since Sakyua seems to have some serious plot armour (more then Sanae I would say) herself.

Granted that they didn't do a whole lot in this match. If Reimu and Remilia did things more often, this wouldn't look so... Well, I don't think my vocabulary is colorful enough to pick a word that describes this off feeling of... Possibilities not taken, I suppose.

I don't hate the fact that Reimu won, though. Seriously, people need to learn a new word instead of barfing "PLOT ARMOR" left and right like it's something intelligent.

the fight was with an S class Yokai and and S class human, versus a B+ ranked human and a D ranked Yokai with two other B+ yokai as support, even with all the tricks the status of power from those two beats those four. Hell, without the tricks and just with physical power, Reimu would have beaten the skeletons literally out of all four of them.

For anyone spouting 'plot armor durr', red 75% had one not because of reimu (since marisa was in the opposing team) butt because of the beating they got at the start of the match.

I, for one, am disappointed that red 75% hadn't returned it with interest, but meh.

I kind of had a feeling that Marisa and crew were not going to be able to win this one, since I remembered in the beginning of these comics, Nitori was the one who invited Marisa to the match, and Marisa agreed in exchange for one of Nitori's inventions.

But if you think logically about it, this is the only viable route. Against all of the other teams they (Marisa's team) would always have to play the underdog and that would get old fast. By keeping those monsters in (Remilia+Reimu) you keep in extremely powerful combatants that will undoubtedly make the following match a lot more balanced than if Marisa and Nitori would have moved on.

This is my option both from a person that has some interest in wwe and such and also analysed how the matches would be like if Marisa would have won. Safe to say this will lead to more interesting fights...

I still (personally) wish that they or Eiki would have continued.
