If that move actually hit, Nitori would be in pieces right now, but Remilia pulled a friendship stunt... So maybe I did a double call? Or maybe that was a double miss, seing as no one won the match yet...?
In the end, folks. We all know the final answer to this fight.
The Kappas will be overworked. Again. Seriously, are they being paid well enough for this?
Remi's intervention had nothing to do with friendship. That was her stopping Reimu from disqualifying them. She had no choice if she wanted to win.
I think it's safe to say that Reimu's exhausted herself. All that remains to be seen is if any on the opposing team have anything left with which to pin her.
Maybe this is all part of The Screenplay paper from here post #922503
Maybe this was all planned by Red 75% for a benefit im guessing for audience support or maybe it has somthing to do with Yukari and/or the 3 fingers a few pages back

It's a self-defense mechanism tripped by her going unconscious which results in her unrestrained power being used. Remember, Reimu's power is one of the reasons why the spellcard rules were implemented. The majority of youkai would be speed bumps to her otherwise.

Some folks when knocked senseless revert to a more instinctual/less restrained thought pattern. Something similar happened in Ippo with Takamaru basically going berserk after being nearly KOed by a punch.

Its both ways. Spellcard Rules means everyone gets a fair shot, humans and youkai alike, but the possibility of death is minimized in exchange. This way Reimu doesn't have to risk death most of the time (which might destablize the barrier), and weaker youkai who would normally be ROLFstomped by her can put up some kind of a fight (which is probably the only reason they willingly use said rules).

As one poster pointed out, Reimu has a move from IaMP where she attacks with everything she's got while unconcious.
Pro-Marisa/Nitori fans seem to forget the many times in this match where Reimu and Remilia mention they are holding back in order to avoid splatting Marisa and Nitori. Reimu wasnt knocked so much as she was knocked senseless and is now lashing out at 100% of whatever strength she has left on pure instinct. Go look at some fighting manga and you'll see plenty of instances where something similar happens, especially with genius main characters. In fact, I think something similar has happened in both Kinnikuman (forget when exactly) and Nisei Kinnikuman (in the anime at least, when Mantarou fought that skinny Baron guy who could hulk-out and then tornado slam you into the ring hard enough to make an explosion).
Notice how you're talking about manga, and not real life. In real life, this does not happen, because it's incredibly dumb.
If Reimu was so overpowered that she needed to hold back just to give Marisa and Nitori a chance at hurting her, then this barrier is a joke, and this entire wrestling contest is equally a joke.
