レンズの中に、
1人の少女が飛び込んできた。

「おーい、みんなー！　ターボだよー！
ねぇねぇ、これちゃんと映ってる？？
……そっか！　映ってるならよーっし！！
あのね、今回のレースは特別なんだー！」

そう言って、少女はカメラに顔を寄せる。
キラキラと輝く瞳が、数度、瞬いた。

「だから、今日も逃げ切るよ！！
ぜったいの、ぜーったい！　必ず！
逃げ切って勝つの！！」

レースの緊張を感じさせない、
明るく希望に満ちた声。
多くのものを振り向かせた少女は、
高らかに宣言する。

「ターボは強いから、
いつだって、スタートからゴールまで、
ターボエンジンぜんかーーっい！！
ずーっと1番前を走るんだ！」

諦めを知らぬ幼さからか。
少女の口から出たのは、
あどけない――無謀ともとれる言葉。

「負けないから！！」

けれどそれは、自分を鼓舞すべく発せられ、
また、立ち止まっている
誰かの背を押すように力強く――

「だから、見てて！！」

モニターの向こうまで、響いていた。

A girl jumps into the shot.

"Hey, guys! It's me, Turbo! Hey, hey... is this thing workin' right?
It is?! All right, as long as they can see me!
So, anyway, this upcomin' race is gonna be a special one!"

She brings her face closer to the camera. Her sparkling eyes glimmer like thousands of stars.

"I'm gonna wipe the floor with all of 'em! For sure! For sure! I mean it!
I'm gonna dash to the front and win!"

Her voice is bright and hopeful with no signs of worry. Having captured everyone's attention, she proclaims loudly,

"I'm super tough! I'm gonna charge my turbo engines and then WHOOOOSH!
I'll be in first the whole time!"

Maybe it's her naivete shining through, but her words ring reckless... yet innocent.

"I won't lose!"

Perhaps her words are not just a declaration, but a promise to herself. Or perhaps they're meant to encourage those who feel lost.

"So keep your eyes on me!"

Her words echo out forth to everyone on the other side of the screen.
