One can is already missing from the set of 6. Shinji's still underage to get his license but Misato praises him for his driving skills. So Misato drank while driving and literally handed Shinji the wheel. Or maybe there's some other things happening behind the wheels...that ripped off corner of something sure looks like a condom wrapper from size comparison with the things inside the plastic bag.
