I seriously wonder why artists do that with a character who rapes most of your lives with her freaking lasers.

It's posts like this that make me sad to know that, according to SoPM, Shou's actually pretty weak without the pagoda and doesn't even know how to use that spear...

Those "biographies" are subjectively written from Akuu's perspective based on gossip and hearsay. Anything and everything in them is of highly questionable validity at best and total lies and propaganda at worst.

I'd say it's a blend of the impressions/opinions of the people who have met or seen the Youkai in question and Akyuu's assessment. Plus some liberties taken at the request of some the portrayed Youkai.
