I never quite got the idea behind these test suits.
I get it there fan-service it's not supposed to be practical.
But if it had the thinner clear area to have the skin closer to the LCL i'd think it would make more sense to have the arms and legs with the thinner portion since those would have the most movement and reaction to environment, enemies, ect.

But why should the important parts be closer to the LCL? I don't think the LCL transmits data to the EVA. Although, if thinner plugsuits gets the pilots closer to the "Ghost in the EVA", and with the head always having been uncovered anyway, I guess it makes sense to try to expose the entire central nervous system (spine in addition to head) for good measure. Or maybe not, who knows?
I figured it'd be more of a nerve and sensory Organ deal. With the arms and legs being bare for better reaction time to send the singles or receive singles from Eva. There are certain receptors in the brain that recognize sensations by visually seeing allowing you to empathize with individuals experiencing pain and pleasure and whatnot, but those same receptors control your own pain and pleasure responses they don't get confused because sensors in your arms tell your brain your not being or are being touched etc. Given that it seems to me to have the thinner area on the skin to transmit the false singles to the brain from the Eva to help move the mech or interact with the terrain. If that's confusing I apologize it makes sense in my head haha.
Though I've no idea it's all wired through the brain so I don't see why having the LCL closer to the skin in anyway would change it, though apparently it does.
It's fan service no idea why I queston these things.
