i'm guessing it'll be taking place right after the last OVA. but that's just a wild guess that i'm throwing out there. i doubt it'd happen that way.

Why doubt it? It seems guaranteed. No point to have the events of the OVA and not follow up on it in a movie, given that it's utterly 100% perfect material for a one-off movie story.

Well, considering the movie is calked K-ON! Road trip (and because of the OVA), I hope they'll take Mio'I (I'm pretty sure it was her suggestion?) to go to New York! Maybe they'll perform in a pretty well known club down town or something? Just throwing out possible stuff.
