Reminds me of reading a long time ago that bulletproof vests used by the police were fairly different between the US and UK. Particularly the UK vests were designed to be more resistant to being stabbed, because it was much more likely to happen than being shot. As it turned out standard vests could block a bullet but not a knife stab as well. While the bullet impacts once, the knife would hit twice. A knife stab as it turned out was two impacts instead of one. The first impact was caused when the blade hit the vest, but then a second impact would occur when the hand impacted the handle of the knife, and that second impact would cause the knife to penetrated the vest.
