The sand in your eyes feels unwelcome as they slowly open, only to be greeted by the harsher mistress of sunlight, forcing them to peel just a bit wider than you would have liked. The smell of cinnamon and apples touches your nose as does the renewed sense for your surroundings begin to slowly but surely shake you to full alert. Your body feels like it has been soaked in a pool of sweat and fatigue as you feel the aches beginning to itch up your shoulders and down to your spine. You try to yawn, but feel your throat strangely dry, as does the roof of your mouth. The sound of rustling cloth (Silk, you would tell yourself later) greets your ears as you gaze...

Silver locks of wavy hair drape all over her back; you could tell that much, even with her facing right at you. A mature, beautiful visage blessed by the moon and loved by the night greets your eyes; the question to the cinnamon and apple answered. The upward curve of her lips and the cling of the silk to her body shadows all but what was once bare to you, heart and soul. Your lips try to move as you feel yourself suddenly more naked than you already are; the deep blue orbs, those dark-as-night wonders captivate you, entrance you.

Your mind rushes faster than science thought possible; your mouth begins to moisten, your sore limbs beginning to shake as though they would fall as you remember the night before, the excitement, the thrill, that encounter under the stars, that lucky, lucky, shot of warm vintage spilling into the a cold throat.

And then you wonder...

There were at least a dozen and a half eligible bachelors the night before. Was it your looks? A soft scoff at the back of your head and a slightly pudgy than liked reflection said otherwise. Was it your wit? Hardly; you couldn't keep up with half the night's quips and colloquialisms shot left and right. Could it have been your wealth? No; she was wealthy (Extremely) enough, and you, you had to work day and night to make your quota. Then you decide to ask her.
