somebody mentioned acidus earlier and coincidentally i have some headcanons for them too…
- acidus are the more passive cousins of the ferus, residing in higher elevations and generally living rather peacefully among themselves
- they are notably greedier than ferus, using their homing locations to their advantage and stashing their treasures in obscure places they themselves often create
- due to their general body weight and wingspan, their gliding distance is not too impressive–they cling to a stalactite for support if their destination is too far
- acidus grow one to two simple rows of small, razor-sharp teeth–ideal for gripping food securely
- blue acidus, with their larger wingspan, have a much easier time gliding from one point to another and are therefore more successful in using the swooping method for hunting
- gold acidus have lesser-evolved wings but are endowed with hind legs, allowing them to hunt without giving too much stress on their wings; because of this, they are occasionally competing with their larger, more agile ferus cousins for food
- in addition, gold acidus are known to be excellent climbers; their sure-footedness aids them in quickly escaping from their jealous cousins’ grip
