it’s half past 1 am and i’m going to regret this in the morning but here are some headcanons
- both species of ferus have selective suction cups at the bottom of their “toes”
- their diets comprise of mostly penomena, fish, and other slippery creatures, therefore they rely on the powerful suction of their toes to effectively lock their prey in place before feeding
- ferus have up to five rows of sharp teeth growing at inward angles that aid them in tearing at very tough surfaces (like lk armour huhuhuh)
- their forearms are considerably strong in comparison to other major muscles; however, they are of very little use to them other than helping the ferus rise from a resting position
- during mating season, the male red ferus’s crest becomes extremely vibrant to attract potential mates; likewise, male green ferus engage in scuffles involving their spiked tails to win over their potential mates, though such an event remains fairly uncommon
