Actually, wine would be one of the few potables for which I would think this sort of thing would be safe. Not only is it 15-20% alcohol by volume, but the whole point is to run the fermentation process until yeast (which is probably the most common bacterial vaginal pathogen) can no longer survive.

I was thinking Urethritis in particular, for this case; you're right about the pH of wines and the relationship between alkalinity and BV/Mycological infection. I just can't imagine getting sugars and runoff pathogens all over the vulva is a particularly safe bet, even if it is alcoholic. Disrupting the vaginal ecosystem without good reason is generally regarded as unwise (though some women still think douching and bleaching (yes, really) are good ideas; can never quite kill all the foolishness). Of course, until someone of the medical persuasion sets the record straight we could continue this for days....huzzah!
