Given the hell she had to go through out the games, I'm sure Sophitia would LOVE to take a break for awhile. Though knowning her, she'll probably keep going, making sure he doesn't get himself killed most likely trying to help her and her children, and with that, Cassandra will probably be right behind her, making sure Sophitia doesn't get herself killed trying to protect Cassandra, her children, and now this guy.
Soulcalibur V: The main character is Patroklos, son of Sophitia. Patroklos is "inspired" by the gameplay of Sophitia, but is "sharper" and "more agile". He has new moves, but they're all inspired by Sophitia's.

Post-puberty Talim? Do want! I think Namco will do like in the Tekken series, where retired characters are usually replaced by their children, pupils etc. with similar or nearly identical styles. And a lot of the cast are cursed or inhuman (Voldo, Lizardman, Raphael, Zasalamel, Astaroth and so on), so it won't be a complete overhaul. If Yoshimitsu can have a part-time job in a franchise set several centuries after SC, 17 years won't stop him either.

I'd hit it.
And is this guy the new hero, or is it going to be some version of Seigfried?
Patroklos is the protagonist, but Seigfried is still there, just a bit older and less of a pretty-boy. Which is cool.
Not sure if I follow your logic on that last part, though. Pretty sure it will be Nightmare again. On the other hand, there *is* probably a chance that Tira gets completely possessed by Soul Edge. We shall see.
SC's time is much after the mythical ages, and Sophita was that much of a mythology buff (then again her and later her family are the last ones to still believe in the greek gods)
But the for sure characters are the siblings, Sieg and Mitsurugi.

Also, Yoshi's probably still in, but just as a new successor. And is this guy the new hero, or is it going to be some version of Seigfried?
Say, if Sophie/Cassie's styles are being used by a guy, does that mean we'll see a possible female Sieg/Soul Edge character?
