Well mostly it is because it is a pain in the ass to spread sunscreen in even layers on ones back, plus the area in the middle of the back is going to have less...basically it is just much easier to have someone else do.

I see, so it's "even layers" that matters. I bet most people can spread the lather from a bar of soap all over their backs without the assistance of others or a tool, but I take it in that respect "even layers" doesn't really matter.
The expression on Rin's face, however, seems to say that the person she's looking at is the last person she'd ask to do this in this situation.
