Takeda's Pride
I am Takeda. I was born into a powerful family, I trained myself to become strong, and became the commander of the powerful Takeda clan. That's who I am. I commanded the strongest cavalry in the Warring States. I had my trusted one-eyed military strategist, and I had my younger brother. But all of that...destroyed by one woman. Wait. Was...she really a woman? Was she even human? Whatever the case, she changed everything.
First, the woodpecker saw through the plan. Second, she descended the mountains under cover of night. Third, she positioned her army in the fog. Fourth, she used her soldiers' speed to her advantage. Fifth, she tore apart the wings of the crane. Sixth, she sacrificed the lives of her most loyal retainers. Seventh, the white glimmer descended upon my neck.
Not once had I ever been so defeated, so utterly crushed, as I was in this moment. As I was faced with the greatest crisis of my life, everything hinged on the single sweep of my battle fan. Every generation of Takeda men had prepared for this moment. The blood of the Takeda clan, which I considered a burden and even a nuisance, supported me in the end. Whether one likes it or not, there will inevitably come a time when one must bear responsibility for everything one shoulders.
If that time comes for you, I will support you as those who supported me did. That is the pride of the Takeda clan, or rather...my pride.
