Fanart of Mavuika with my own twist on the character

Initially I wanted to use Mayan/Inca imagery for the tattoos to stay true to the original character design inspiration, but as I worked on them it looked more Polynesian; so instead of reworking it I decided to go with the flow and looked up some references for Polynesian tattoo ideas and added them into the mix
It also helps that the Hawaiian deity Pele (or Tutu Pele) is a goddess associated with volcanoes and often creation and destruction, hence a concept of rebirth if you'd like to look at it that way; the fact that I knew about this random bit of information also kept me going with the whole pacific islander look rather than scrapping it and I'm pretty glad at how it turned out

And so I present to you my Hawaiian/Polynesian Mavuika redesign
