Malignant Logic
One could make a very strong argument that numbers are themselves humanity's greatest achievement. Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division... From these fundamentals, we can measure an object's size, the distance between two points, and everything else. No being can exist in reality and not be subject to numbers. What's more, numbers can also invite malignancy. If killing a hundred people can save the lives of a thousand more, then surely someone out there will readily bear the burden of such a sin. The fact is, humans can no longer live their lives with the unadorned simplicity of mere beasts. Thus, we have logical malignance, as collected in the very instruments you see here.
