I don't get it. Maybe translations of the later pages will make more sense of this, but I don't get why Flandre is afraid of Koishi. She even admits earlier that if she felt like ignoring Spell Card Rules she could just pop anyone with her hax destruction power so why is Koishi's weird danmaku and willingness to use lethal force scary to Flandre?

You are asking WHY people are afraid of something? People are afraid if they are.

Thinking about it, maybe it has to do with Flandre and Koishi's abilities.

Koishi's ability to manipulate the subconscious. This should mean she could manipulate emotions and feelings, and/or she could be invisible to those who arent staring right at her.

Then there's Flandre's ability to destroy anything. She does this by grabbing the 'eye' of her target, and crushing it. The 'eye' being the universally weakest point of the object, and crushing it causes it to collapse, whether it be a person's soul, a tower's support beam, or the critical center point of a meteor.

That being said, because of Koishi's ability, even if she isnt directly manipulating Flandre's subconscious, Flandre could still be rather unnerved, being unable to see Koishi's 'eyes'. because of this, as most people, she fears that which is different, something she hasnt experienced before, something that renders her almost powerless.

    bumpin for translation.

This isn't the only page either. Quite a few need a good translation.

The other point is that Flandre's power, despite the meme that she unthinkingly destroys stuff, her power of ultimate destruction is VERY directed. She points and clicks and then "kyuu". It's a conscious decision; she wants something gone, and bam. Very easy, but still her choice.

Koishi's danmaku doesn't care if you live or die in the slightest, as though her opponent's life isn't something to be aware of. Flandre's reaction to meeting Koishi in this manner is the same reaction normal people would have to meeting Flandre herself; this is someone who wouldn't even notice if she kills you.

    And it's terrifying to her.

Ah the good ol' unstopable force meets immovable object. Flan can't destroy koishi like she would normally anything that puts even a little fear or annoyance in her, plus koishi's strange appearance to flan (She sees her as if her eyes were empty) is enough to strike fear into her heart. which lets be honest here, anyone of us would be afraid if we saw this and most of us are adults. flan is in some mental degrees still a child and a sheltered one at that.

    In any case,
the unescapable (read: inexplicable) dread gradually changed that color.
    Scary!
