You know, if that hand in the last panel belongs to Koishi (Never found the body and whatnot), it would serve as a pretty nice parallel. Earlier, we saw Ran defeat(?) Koishi, and the last panel of the page was of Mokou's hand pointing down. Here, we see Utsuho defeat Mokou, and the last panel of the page would be of Koishi's hand pointing up. Even the page layout is similar.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Koishi still around though? I was fairly sure Ran even got surprised because Mokou escaped fast enough to block the attack on Koishi.

Well, I don't think that Mokou saved Koishi, but it's still very possible that's she did survive the attack (although I'd think barely).
I think it's Mokou's hand. If you look at her hand in panel 1, you can see an x-shaped wound, similar to the one on the last panel.
That being said, even though I root for Okuu-Ran, I really hope we haven't seen the last of Koishi. If the only thing an Ex-boss gets to do in a battle is move someones hand, there's something wrong.
However, Ran doesn't strike me as very powerful either, probably because she's the only ex-boss who wasn't the strongest in her game (which, I must admit, is quite an unfair way to judge a character).
And it doesn't change the fact that simply moving a hand is quite a lackluster move. Even Mystia at least got to rend someone.

yes it does and Mokou isn't down yet. Koishi is likely to have a badass moment in this fight, from what I've seen from this series so far. Also what's with Mokou's twig arms?

She's technically not a divine creature, yet. As a Nine Tailed Fox, she is the strongest beast type yokai in japanese mythology. if she was allowed to further evolve, she'd lose five of her magnificent tails and then ascend to to the race of Tenko, which are minor animal deities.
